Preble County Comic Con

Preble County Comic Con

Preble County District Library is hosting our second annual Preble County Comic Con (#PCCC2018)! In the hopes of being bigger and better than last year, this year's event will be held at The Star Theatre and Gymnasium across the street from the Eaton library. This allows more space for community guests and artists, as well as crafts and activities.

Saturday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Events/Guests & Activities:

  • Artists/ Comic Book Illustrators: Adam Fields, Stephen Baker, Vanessa Bettencourt & Jacob Falling

Cosplay Contest:

One of the most popular activities associated with Comic Cons around the world is cosplay: dressing up as your favorite character from a movie, book, or video game. During Preble County Comic Con, we’ll be deciding on the best costumes for four different age groups: 0-3 years, 4-12 years, 13-18 years, and 19 and older. You can pre-register at the Eaton library by filling out a Cosplay Contest Registration Form. Costumes from all genres are acceptable, and original characters are welcome, too.

Only handmade or hand assembled costumes will be accepted. You can use pre-styled/modified accessories such as wigs, shoes, and props, but we strongly encourage handmade accessories. This is your chance to show off your handiwork!

Contestants are encouraged, though not required, to bring a reference photo or drawing of their character for the judges. Actual weapons and other items considered dangerous by the library are prohibited, and all costumes should follow the library’s code of conduct, as this is an event for all ages. No nudity or offensive language.

Community Fan Art Display

Have your fan art displayed during the library Comic Con.  Drop off your fan art to the Eaton Library by Monday, July 16 to have it displayed. Fan art from all genres are acceptable. Each piece of art must be library appropriate and will need to be approved for display. All ages are welcome to submit, and art must be picked up by July 30.
