Your Library Turns 60 Years Old in December

The Preble County District Library has been providing library services, as a County District Library, to this community for almost 60 years. In September of 1958, the State Library of Ohio offered a grant of $15,000 in federal funds to cover first year expenses for the 9 Preble County libraries consolidating into one permanent countywide system. After many meetings and discussions, trustees of 6 libraries created a modified plan to allow the interested libraries to unite. In December 1959,  of the libraries in Preble County consolidated into one District Library.

The Preble County District Library is celebrating its 60th year serving Preble County as a district library system. Visit us at our branch open houses to celebrate!
