Services for Children

The library offers many special programs just for Children!

Story Times
Infant/toddler, pre-school and elementary story times are provided at many of our libraries. You will listen to a story and make a related craft! We offer fall, winter, and spring sessions.
Ask about Story Time at your local branch. Registration required.

Summer Reading Program
It is very important that you keep reading during summer vacation! To make reading fun, the library offers the Summer Reading Program. You read for prizes and enjoy special, weekly programs. How cool is that?

Family Programs
At certain times during the year, various libraries offer special programming for the entire
family. Family programs are announced in your local library through posters or flyers, and in
local the newspapers. A monthly program calendar is available at all of our library branches.

Book Stamp Program
This program runs all year long. It is offered at all 7 Preble County District Library branches.
When you sign up, you will receive a Book Stamp booklet -- orange for picture book  readers; yellow for chapter book readers. Each time you return to the library, you receive a star-stamp in your booklet for each book that you read (or that someone read to you.) When you fill up your booklet, you receive a FREE book!

Children’s Special Services
The library offers the following to Special Children: Adaptive toys and sign language & services for the deaf. For more information, please ask to see our Children's Special Services brochure.
